Monday Morning Cup of Coffee: Foreclosures Down 550K From Last Year

In its "First Look" report on February mortgage data, Black Knight Financial Services estimates that the number of loans in foreclosure nationwide has contracted by more than 500,000 from a year ago.

While approximately 92,000 foreclosure starts were initiated last month, the report notes that volume is down 30 percent on an annual basis. The highest rates of mortgages at least 90 days past due were noted in Mississippi, Nevada, and Rhode Island.
