The Massachusetts Senate has approved and forwarded to the lower chamber legislation that would restore the titles of foreclosed properties to homeowners affected by procedural errors or wrongful seizures.

Senators unanimously passed the bill on Jan. 23, after thousands of foreclosures sales across Massachusetts were voided due to recent state Supreme Judicial Court rulings. According to Senate President Therese Murray, providing clear title on these homes will help cultivate a healthy real estate market.
