California Attorney General Kamala Harris has intercepted half a dozen Web sites that promised to "kill your mortgage" in exchange for large upfront fees. On top of advance charges ranging from $1,000 to $10,000, victims were duped into signing a promissory note or new mortgage to erase debt. In addition to the site "WeKillYourMortgage.com," a court order has also suspended operation of NorthBayTrustServices.com, SntaRosaTrustandTitle.com, SonomaFidelity.com, CorteMaderaFidelityandTitle.com, and MarinTrustandTitle.com. As part of the mortgage fraud, three individuals have been arrested and charged in the 57-count complaint.
