St. Louis Business Journal

Bank Director magazine has assembled a list of the U.S. banks generating the most income from fees, including overdraft charges, checking accounts and debit card transactions, and non-depository lines of business.

Among those making the cut were Missouri's UMB Financial Corp., which ranked ninth on the compilation with 58 percent of its operating income derived from fees. Checking in at No. 29, meanwhile, was Commerce Bancshares -- also based in Missouri -- which gets 39 percent of its operating revenue from fees.
