Ill. AG Madigan Offers Tips on Protecting Senior Citizens, Kicks Off Consumer Protection Week

As it celebrates National Consumer Protection Week, the office of Illinois Attorney General Lisa Madigan is reminding senior citizens of the resources available to help prevent them from being taken advantage of during tough economic times. The office has a guide available for seniors to use if they are facing credit problems and to help them avoid mortgage rescue scams. There also is a training program to help seniors recognize and avoid scams; and the office hopes that seniors who complete the program will be able to go on and help others in the community avoid similar pitfalls.
