Fewer Americans Having Trouble Making Mortgage Payments

Data collected from May 2012 to May 2013 show that Americans increasingly are doing a better job of paying their mortgages. According to the analysis performed by CoreLogic, the number of foreclosures finalized during those 12 months declined significantly, tumbling to 52,000 from 71,000. Meanwhile, an estimated 4.4 million home loans have landed in foreclosure since the financial crisis took hold in September 2008.
