Another Tax Preparer Severs Ties With Republic of Kentucky

In August, First Liberty Tax Service ended its relationship with Republic Bancorp -- which was forced late last year to take refund anticipation loans (RALs) off its menu of services -- and now Jackson Hewitt Technology has followed suit. Republic provided electronic refund check and deposit products to customers of Jackson Hewitt as well as RALs, but Jackson Hewitt said the agreement was predicated on Republic's ability to make the loans in the 2013 and 2014 tax seasons.
