Call your bank. Ask them what they charge for an overdraft. Ask them whether they subtract debits from highest to the lowest at the end of the day. Ask them whether you can "opt out" of overdraft if you don't want to pay a fee for a debit card transaction that is not covered. This call will help us document what the banks are doing, and will put the banks on notice that their customers are aware of their practices.
