How CRL Started
Brief comments from Martin Eakes, CEO Center for Responsible Lending.The Center for Responsible Lending, an affiliate of community development lender Self-Help, is dedicated to protecting homeownership and family wealth. CRL works to eliminate abusive financial practices by raising public awareness through research, coalition building and work with policymakers and regulators.
Our landmark studies on predatory lending practices have helped many families by shaping state and federal laws that protect them from such abuses. Our work continues to have a significant impact on those families today, combating new harmful practices as they emerge with borrower-centered remedies.
