California Foreclosures: More than half of all foreclosures in the state are of Latino and African-American homeowners, according to August 2010 Center for Responsible Lending mortgage research.

Despite national indicators that the recession is over and the housing market recovery has begun, the data for California tell a different story. Unemployment, a foreclosure backlog, large proportions of Alt-A loans and millions of underwater borrowers suggest that California's economic recovery is not just around the corner.
