Welcome to the Appellate Assistance Project for Consumer Attorneys, a joint legal support center of Center for Responsible Lending (CRL), AARP Foundation Litigation (AARP), National Association of Consumer Advocates (NACA), Public Citizen and National Consumer Law Center (NCLC).
We believe that in order to preserve legal rulings that benefit consumers, advance the law and avoid harmful legal rulings, it is essential to provide resources and assistance in effective appellate advocacy to attorneys litigating on behalf of consumers. Accordingly, this project will offer a broad range of assistance to consumer attorneys with their appeals.
We offer a wide array of assistance and guidance on appellate practice ranging from assisting attorneys in evaluating whether to appeal adverse rulings to co-counseling the appeal. We also can provide help with research, drafting, rule compliance, editing briefs, and arrange moot courts.
We also hope to compile links to court rules and websites, publish available practice tips, and post briefs filed in various jurisdictions.
