The Consumer Financial Protection Agency: How the New Agency Will Protect Consumers from Predatory Lending

Have you heard about the new agency Congress is considering to protect families from the predatory lending that resulted in our nation’s foreclosure crisis and the spillover effect that has harmed the entire country?

Want to know what they’re doing in Washington to make sure we don’t end up in this financial mess again? Now is your chance!

On Thursday, August 13th at 2 pm EST, Ellen Harnick, Senior Policy Counsel for the Center for Responsible Lending, will talk briefly about the new agency and answer questions about how it will work, why industry wants it to fail, and what can be done to help its passage.

WHO SHOULD PARTICIPATE? Community leaders and advocates, staff and members of advocacy organizations dedicated to protecting families from predatory practices.

WHAT DO I NEED TO ACCESS THE CONFERENCE? All you will need to access the web video conference are: 1) access to an internet browser and 2) speakers or headphones/headsets.

HOW DO I ASK QUESTIONS? A chat function will allow you to submit questions during the call.

We hope you will be able to join us!
